The WORST rental experience I have encountered in recent years

Since we tried to make public the mafia practices of the owner Portia Mizzi, she changed the physical address of the Google Maps listing of her rental apartments (false address), she managed to delete many negative reviews on Google, and many very suspicious “positive reviews” appeared even though her accommodation was not rented. Recently on the Airbnb rental listing she also changed her name, it is no longer Portia but Leonarda who appears. The owner has obviously erased all evidence of her past criminal actions from the web in order to continue her activities.

We could not even put a negative review on Airbnb because there is a maximum delay of 2 weeks and as we were waiting for the reimbursement of the deposit illegaly request by Mizzi (outside of Airbnb) we did not dare at first…

Our lawyer asked to MIZZI to reimburse us €1000 within 15 days but Portia Mizzi hides and no longer responds in order to escape justice.

Our misadventure in Portia MIZZI’s accommodation

Following a 3-month rental through Airbnb, Portia asked us for a deposit of €250 which we had to pay before our arrival. The deposit of €250 was never returned to us even though we left the apartment in perfect condition and even left the electrical cards preloaded

As far as the rental goes, it was TERRIBLE. We had to leave the rental after 2 weeks and urgently find other accommodation in Malta. We therefore also lost the cost of renting the remaining 15 days because we had paid for the month in advance, so around €750 extra.

INCIDENT ENCOUNTERED with the rental

The house is separated into 2 parts by a simple interior door as well as glass doors opening onto the interior patio. The PROMISCUITY is total.

We had the misfortune of having noisy “long-term” tenants who occupied the other part of the house. Every morning we were woken up at 6:30 a.m. because they were leaving for work and making a lot of noise. In the evening and night, on several occasions, we had to endure returning from drunken evenings with screaming, etc.

The peaceful stay envisaged then turned into a source of permanent anxiety,
particularly for our son, then aged 12, who was continually awakened by the
cries and shocks caused by your other tenants.

We fortunately found another pleasant rental in Malta but we remain traumatized by this bad experience in Portia’s accommodation and the feeling of having been robbed of €1000.

POOR CONDITION of housing

I am adding several photos here and I warn also potential future tenants of poor condition of Portia’s place.

You have to flush the toilet several times for it to work. The refrigerator is in very poor condition (torn seals…), the oven is very worn and low power, there is no microwave, there are very few dishes, very bad beds, the two bedrooms are in reality a single room separated by cupboards…

The patio is pretty with its plants but … the occupants of the other part of the house have their window overlooking it and can therefore observe you… promiscuity is a real and you can see them taking a shower, not very pleasant when you have a child.

The appartment is separated in two. The second part of the apartment has an entrance to another street, here is his address and photos where we see the windows overlooking the patio as well as the bathroom where we can observe the other tenants in the shower.
